These are members of the Gundog group,  the Hunt Point Retrieve (HPR) sub group. Origin Hungary where they are known as the Drotszoru Magyar.  This is a comparatively rare breed here and on the continent with a small but growing band of enthusiasts that are finding their Hungarian wirehaired vizsla successful in many areas as well as the shooting arena.   A medium sized, lively dog, males up to 241/2" at the shoulder.  The breed has only been in the country since the early 1990's but the average age would be between 10 and 14 years.   This is a gentle, affectionate, energetic dog who needs free running and is bright and willing to learn. Very people orientated.  A decent wire coat is easy to manage requiring very little grooming. The Hungarian wirehaired vizsla is a sensitive breed by nature that doesn't take well to rough handling and if you like a strong willed dog this is NOT the breed for you.
